I just tried something pretty great at a site called www.CreditKarma.com . It's the first free credit score site I have ever seen that actually IS free! The only catch is that it's ad-driven and you have to look at ads. But what you get in return for looking at those ads is a fantastic service, where you can actually see what if scenarios and your credit scrore: The Credit Simulator. This neat web application can show you the impact various actions will have on your credit score.

It's completely free and they do not try to sell you ANYTHING! I highly recommend it.
